Shared Lunch for Adam notice

18 May 2010

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Tuesday the 1st of June is the last day in Room 6 for Adam. He is traveling to Norway with his family to live for a year. We thought it would be nice to farewell him with a shared lunch. Could you please provide a small plate of food for us to share? Adam is a vegetarian – it would be great if we could respect that on this occasion.

Many thanks and regards
Adi Sutherland and Sandra Morgan
Room 6 Teachers

Room 6 - you have mail!!!

Email from Stella today ..

Hi Adi, Mrs Morgan and Room 6,

I'm having a great time on holiday and I'm really missing you!

Yesterday I went to a wildlife park with my cousins and I fed lots of kangaroos. I saw joeys and they were jumping around. There was one called Peanut and he tried to jump on me! He was trying to hold my hand and he clung onto me. He almost got out of his enclosure!

I saw a little newborn joey called Jasmine. She was little. Then I helod out some grass and she came over to me.

I patted koalas. They are really soft. They sleep for over 20 hours a day!

I saw a parrot that was talking to me and mama. It kept saying hello, hello, hello! We saw a snake and lizards and a wombat. She was a baby and she was only 1 year old. Her name was Nat. She was pretty big for a baby.

I played golf today with my daddy, my uncle James and my nanny and papa.
I was allowed to drive the golf carts! I went really fast. There were lots of kangaroos on the course.

Mama is going to try to work out how to put a photo on the blog for you to see us in Australia.

There is a 4 hour time difference in Perth. That means that when school starts at 9 oclock in the morning for you, I am still in bed because it's only 5 oclock in the morning here!

Im excited to be able to see you again. You can send me emails to mama's address and I will reply.

I miss you,

Lots of love from stella xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

REPORT WRITING

At the moment we are leaning to write reports. We know they need a title ,some facts and a summary. Here are some of our reports on whales....

Amazing whales

I know whales are the biggest sea creatures in the world. Whales eat fish. They suck the fish and water into their bristles. They blow the water out of the blowhole. They do not swallow the water, they blow the water out. They do not have teeth. They have bristles. They are baleen. They swim deep.

Whales are big. They like playing. Whales are blue. Whales have fins.Instead of teeth they have baleen. They are the biggest creature in the world. Wow there is a lot about whales! Whales are so big!
